Bacolod wins national award for local legislation
Bacolod City added yet another feather to its cap as it won the Excellence in Local Legislation Award, city category, for the outstanding performance of its Sangguniang Panlungsod.
Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson and Councilor Homer Bais accepted the award on beahlf of the city government in awarding ceremonies held in Cebu City over the weekend.
Bacolod, together with Kabankalan City, represented Western Visayas in the national competition after winning in the regional level.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia congratulated the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, led by Sayson, for a job well done and for making the city proud. He said that the most recent award is a clear indication of the hard work and dedication showed not only by the vice mayor and the city councilors but also by their respective staff who worked tirelessly for the various legislations proposed and passed.
Sayson, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude to all employees working with the Sangguniang Panlungsod for their selfless effort and unquestionable support to the city council.
