One Visayas celebration successful—Tesoro
ROXAS CITY – The holding of One Visayas, One People, One Destiny celebration in the province of Capiz on March 11–14 was successful and fruitful, Provincial Tourism Office Al Tesoro said.
Tesoro said that the celebration boosted tourism for Roxas City and Capiz province considering that there were three regions which participated in the celebration.
According to him, many businesses, hotels, and restaurants increased their income as well as tricycle and transport sectors during the four-day affair.
Admittedly, Tesoro said that there were lapses on the part of organizer but it can be developed in the future hosting of Capiz.
One Visayas, One People, One Destiny, was the 2nd celebration which was hosted by Capiz province, the first one held last year was hosted by Cebu City.
It showcased Visayas culture, arts, heritage, products and festivals among provinces which participated the celebration.
The affair was graced by Lakas-Kampi CMD presidential standard bearer Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro, Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, Antique Gov. Salvacion Zaldivar Perez, Aklan Gov. Lito Marquez and Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr.
It was also attended by Regional Director Edwin Trompeta of Department of Torism (DOT), and municipal mayors from different participating provinces, among others.
