Blessing and dedication of P18M CEH centennial building held
ROXAS CITY – The newly finished 3-storey Capiz Emmanuel Hospital (CEH) Centennial Building worth P18 million was blessed and inaugurated yesterday morning. It was attended by top ranking officials of the hospital and Filamer Christian College.
The CEH, which is run by Protestants-Capiz Evangelical Church and founded in 1908, started the construction of its centennial in 2008.
The 3-stories centennial building has offices and laboratories at 1st floor; offices, modern Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with four private rooms in the 2nd floor and ten private rooms bearing different names of benefactors at the 3rd floor of the building.
Mr. Jessie Contreras, hospital administrator and member of the Board of Trustees, during the blessing and dedication expressed thanks and gratitude to those people who really helped made the centennial building possible.
According to him, the centennial building was a long dream which became a reality through concerted efforts of its officials and all benefactors as well as suppliers who supplied materials as “utang-bayad” until the building was completed.
“This is the fulfillment of our dream which we worked hard,” Contreras said as he acknowledged his son Engr. Michael Contreras, engineer of the building.
On the other hand, Atty. Mariano A. Dioso, BOT chairman, also expressed thanks and gratitude to the people behind the completion of the building despite shortage of funds.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ruben Gonzales, publisher of The Capiz Chronicles and chair of the Task Force on Environmental DENR awarded the CEH as cleanest hospital in Roxas City during their inspection.
The CEH also awarded: Dioso, Fantilaga, Contreras, Dr. Alfredo Bisnar, Mrs. Loida Cenar, Mr. Felimon Fegarido, Engr. Michael Contreras, Mrs. Rosemarie Bilan and Mrs. Rosie Gallaza with certificates of recognition.
Also present in the affair were: Dr. Cesar Yap. Teresa Almalbis, Atty. Joseph Arrojado and former Inzo Arnaldo Brgy. Capt. Nestor Arrojado, former Gov. Esteban Contreras, Pastor Odiaman, residents and visiting doctors, among others.
