Dead woman found in resort room known
Police already identified the woman who was found dead inside a rented room of a beach resort Sunday.
But Arevalo Police Station chief Senior Insp. Eliazer Baclagon said that nobody confirmed if Marissa Galon, 26, a native of San Lorenzo, Guimaras, was indeed a freelance sex worker.
“According to her friends, she worked as a househelper,” he added.
It was gathered that police investigators already talked to some of Galon’s friends and have found leads on her possible attacker.
“We already have an information on the possible suspect. We just need to confirm his identity,” Baclagon said but refused to give out further information claiming that it might jeopardize their ongoing investigation.
It can be recalled that Galon was found dead inside Room M4 of Wilken’s Beach Resort at Brgy. Sto Niño Norte, Arevalo, Iloilo City.
She bore a lone stab wound on her chest when she was found.
A resort attendant claimed that the victim and a male companion, both estimated to be on their 30s, checked in at around 4:00 in the afternoon of Saturday.
They paid in cash for their stay that will last 7:00 in the morning of the next day.
It was already past 7:00 a.m. of Sunday but nobody came out of Room M4.
Later, resort attendants knocked on the door.
However, nobody answered.
This prompted the employee to look for the key and open the door.
When they opened the door, they found the woman alone on top of the bed.
But their initial check revealed otherwise, as they saw ants swarming at the victim’s body.
They also claimed to have not heard any noise coming from the couple’s rented room.
When they checked in, the duo showed that they were just an ordinary couple, reports claimed.
But while several sources described to be effeminate, some reports claimed that her companion was a lesbian.
Baclagon, however, claimed that they have not reported the suspect’s profile.
