Dutch gynecologist speaks at PENRO Women Health Forum
In observance of the Women’s Month Celebration this March, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Negros Occ. through the Gender and Development Focal Point, sponsored a forum on “Gynecological Symptoms and Disease” at the PENR Office, recently.
The forum aimed to raise awareness on the gynecological diseases and its symptoms, which commonly affects women.
The invited speaker was Dr. Jacobus Van der Velden, MD,PH. D. of the Academic Center in Amsterdam. He is a Gynecologic Oncology Specialist who has authored and co-authored 60 peer revered medical papers.
A free consultation followed after the forum.
Other activities during the month long celebration were: launching of an exercise program dubbed as “Babae; humataw ka para sa kalusugan”; lecture on Climate Change and its effect on women conducted by the PENR Officer Jesse L.
