Comelec, Smartmatic to train board of canvassers on PCOS
BACOLOD CITY — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Smartmatic will conduct the actual training on the use of Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) Friday and Saturday this week.
The two-day training to be held in Iloilo City is intended for all the board of canvassers who will be serving in Western Visayas during the May polls.
Negros Occidental Provincial Election Supervisor, lawyer Jessie Suarez said, the training will include the municipal/city board of canvassers, the chairman and vice chairman, election officers and the municipal treasurer and schools division superintendents.
Suarez said that Comelec and PCOS have finished with the actual training and seminar for those who will serve as the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) for the coming May 10 elections.
The seminar concluded last March 5 at the Pavilion Hotel here.
Meanwhile, Suarez said that the Comelec will continue with the “Operation Baklas.”
Suarez said they have warned all candidates and that they expect them to follow such rules and regulations on proper placement of posters and other campaign materials. (PNA)
