537 enumerators to conduct Capiz population, housing survey
ROXAS CITY – More than 500 enumerators will undertake the 2010 census of population and housing in the province of Capiz.
National Statistics Office Provincial head Eriberto Esclamad disclosed that total of 537 enumerators will be hire by their office to undergo a five-day training and enumeration activities staring May 17 to June 11.
Esclamad added that aside from the enumerators they will also hire 30 personnel to act as census area supervisors, 30 assistant census area supervisors and 107 team supervisors.
He pointed out that mostly of the enumerators will be public school teachers, preferably those who will not serve during the upcoming May 10 national and local elections.
He revealed that the honorarium for each enumerator will reach P11,550 while the team supervisor and census area supervisors will each receive P13,050 and P15,175 honorarium, respectively during the duration of the census.
The 2010 census of population and housing is a nationwide undertaking of the NSO which aims to provide government planners, policy makers and administrators with data on which to base their social and economic development plans and programs.
Accordingly, this will be the 13th census of population and the sixth census of housing that will be conducted in the country since the first census was undertaken in 1903.
The last survey of population was in 2007 where Capiz registered a total of 701,664 population. (PIA/Jemin B. Guillermo)
