Capiz top cop vows to beef up PNP’s strength
ROXAS CITY – Capiz Police Director Senior Supt. Josepheus Angan has vowed to strengthen the local police authorities manpower to ensure a peaceful and orderly elections next month.
“We are going to make a request for additional personnel to higher headquarters as augmentation or reserve force during the polls. We will also maximize our local force multipliers and other volunteers to maintain peace and order,” he said in a Capiz Police Provincial Office’s (CPPO) blogsite.
The security preparation is in line with the province’s Joint Security Coordinating Council (JSCC) agenda which were discussed and reviewed during its recent conference.
The JSCC discussion focused more on the deployment plan of PNP, security of candidates, transportation and security of PCOS machines and other election paraphernalia and possibilities of power shortage during election.
At the national level, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo met yesterday with her defense and security officials for a review of the overall security situation and to assess government preparations towards the forthcoming elections. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
