Capiz province 1,000 ballots short
ROXAS CITY – Official ballots for the province of Capiz delivered by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) central office lacks some 1,000 pieces.
This was revealed by Comelec Provincial Officer Atty. Wil Arceño in a media briefing last Wednesday here.
According to him, voters who were late registrants in Capiz province, in which some 300 of whom are residents of Roxas City, were not allotted during the printing of ballots in Manila.
However, the Comelec provincial officer said that he is confident that despite the lack of ballots, the 431,368 registered voters in the whole province will not 100% cast their votes during the election.
Arceño said that the delivery of ballots started yesterday in different towns while the PCOS machines will be delivered starting next week.
He added that days before the election, there will be a mock election to test the PCOS machines whether or not it is functional.
He added that there will be reshuffling of Comelec officers in the province, himself included since he is already 3 years in Capiz.
