Aklan PNP tops Q1 Western Visayas performance rating
KALIBO, Aklan — Senior Superintendent Epifanio Bragais, Jr. said the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) emerged on top of the performance evaluation rating for the period January to March this year.
The Aklan police force bested nine other police units under the command of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 with 845.77 points closely followed by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) with 810.73 points.
APPO Deputy Information Officer PO2 Nida Gregas stressed the local police in Aklan topped the categories in personnel with 92 points, human resource and development doctrine (97.5 points), regional intelligence (125.77 points), plans and research development with 125 points, regional comptrollership with 19.9 points and regional investigation and detection management with a perfect 140 points.
Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) placed third with 809.98 points while Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) ranked fourth with 807.28 points followed by Guimaras Police Provincial Office with 798.53 points, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (787.20), Antique Police Provincial Office (769.24), Capiz Police Provincial Office (758.85) and 6th Regional Mobile Group with 649.21 points.
Gregas said the Aklan PNP, the Best Performing Provincial Police Office in 2008, also scored fairly in logistics and police community relations.
The extensive evaluation of police units in the over-all operational and administrative accomplishments is conducted yearly by the Philippine National Police.
In 2007, APPO was cited as one of the Model Police Station (MPS) and a recipient of training programs and police equipments from the United States Department of Justice ICITAP. (Boy Ryan B. Zabal)
