Orosco’s ex-allies who joined LP defeated
ROXAS CITY – Trusted men and close allies of Sapian Mayor Arturo “Turic” Orosco, Sr. who abandoned him and joined the Liberal Party (LP) lost their political bids in this town in last Monday’s election.
They are vice mayoralty candidate Jonathan Gallardo, reelectionist councilors Kenneth Hondrado and Wilfredo Martinez, Jr.
Gallardo garnered 5,535 votes while his opponent incumbent Vice Mayor Dr. Ralph Odrunia got 6,905 votes; Hondrado and Martinez got only 4,435 votes and 4,676 votes, respectively.
The three former allies were loyal to Orosco’s mother-in-law former Mayor Remedios “Nanay Meding” Oñas however, it was not known why they defected from the camp of the incumbent mayor.
In his second term, Orosco garnered 6,824 votes while opponent Jose Parojinog of LP got 5,933 votes.
On the other hand, seven allies of Orosco won as councilors they are: Samson Cordero, Perseus Garcia, Redentor Obligar, Engr, Noel Oloroso, Imelda Obuyes Orrillos, Renante Pasadas and Elaine Vista. Only Rodel Obordo of LP got elected.
