Aquino to swear in new Iloilo City officials
Presidential frontrunner Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III will induct into office this city’s new set of officials in June.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas made the announcement Monday as talks are on-going with the Aquino camp on the final schedule of oath taking.
Treñas is the incoming representative of the lone congressional district of Iloilo City.
He said it is but fitting the country’s latest president will swear him into office, as well as the new city mayor, vice mayor and councilors.
Elected as new mayor is current Vice Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, while Councilor Jose Espinosa III will replace him in the said post.
Comprising the set of re-elected councilors are Nielex Tupas, Jeffrey Ganzon, Perla Zulueta, Lyndon Acap and Ely Estante.
New city councilors are David Jamora, Edward Yee, Jason Gonzales, Joshua Alim, Rodel Agado, R Leone Gerochi and Plaridel Nava II.
Treñas urged Ilonggos to support the new set of city officials in order to sustain the programs and projects he started under his administration.
“Let us help one another so we can continue to achieve the vision we have set – to be a premier city by 2015,” he said. (PIO)
