Dumarao mayor’s appeal to colleagues: Set aside politics for progress
ROXAS CITY – Reelected Dumarao Mayor Leslie Warren “Beboy” Benjamin appealed his fellow elective officials in the recently concluded election to set aside politics and unite for the town’s progress.
This was the plea of Benjamin to them after only two of his party mates for councilor won in the election. His opponents under the ticket of defeated mayoralty candidate Victor Tanco, Jr. has six and one vice mayor in the group making them the majority in the legislative body.
“I believe that they ran for public office because they wanted to serve our constituents,” Benjamin said.
The second termer mayor also bared to finish his unfinished infrastructure projects such as public market, display and bagsakan centers, scholarship etc.
Benjamin won in mayoralty race, however, his running mate incumbent Vice Mayor Querubin Pamplona and his six candidates for councilor lost.
He thanked the people as well as his family, supporters and constituents for giving him another mandate for second term in a recent election.
