Man stabbed dead by drinking buddy
What started as out as a petty argument over several glasses of tuba, a native wine, ended fatal between two friends Thursday evening at Brgy. Kasing-Kasing, Molo, Iloilo City.
The incident claimed the life of Jonathan Galvez, also a resident of the said place.
After the incident, suspect Tomas Taala, 43, Galves’ neighbor and drinking buddy, was arrested.
According to Molo Police Station investigator PO3 Remy Donasco, the two already consumed a considerable amount of liquor when they had a verbal tussle.
“May diutay lang sila nga gin-baisan kag sang hinali ginbuno ni Tomas si Jonathan Galvez,” Donasco said.
Jonathan Galvez sustained five stab wounds on the chest and side of the body.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital but did not pull through.
Despite what happened, Taala seemingly showed no remorse over his drinking friend’s fate.
“Na-impito lang ko bala. Naako ko na nga ako ang nagbuno sa iya. Gulpi lang gid. Para matapos na lang,” he briefly stated.
Taala is presently detained at Police Station 4 pending the filing of charges against him.
