DAR names four new scholars in Aklan
KALIBO, Aklan – Four students from the province of Aklan have qualified for the scholarship program that was offered by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program With Reforms (CARPER).
Engr. Nora Dela Rosa, DAR Provincial Coordinator on Programang Agraryo Iskolar, said that the four new scholars are Charel Nalangan of Barangay Pang-itan Madalag, Aklan; Richel Paquin of Dingle, Banga; Lindberg De Manuel of Barangay Ortega, Libacao; and Joseph Salvador Aguirre of Barangay Agbalogo Makato.
“Their tuition fees will be given directly to their school while they will be given allowances,” said Dela Rosa.
Since the CARP scholarship was implemented the DAR has already provided scholarships to 36 poor but deserving students in the province.
Six are still in school while the rest have already graduated and are now mostly professionals. (PNA)
