DILG to train 37 WV neophyte mayors
Department of Interior and Local Government 6 (DILG-6) will train 37 neophyte mayors in Western Visayas regarding good governance.
31 of the new mayors are from different municipalities, five mayors are from component cities, and one mayor from highly urbanized city referring to incoming Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.
The training is set on middle of July this year. The new set of officials will assume office on July 1.
According to Ann Genevieve del Castillo of DILG-6, these newly elected local officials will undergo training under the Newly Elected Officials (NEO) training program.
The training aims to strengthen the capability of new officials on good leadership and local development.
Aside from these, del Castillo also said that the training will help newly-elected officials know their responsibilities as leaders of their respective communities.
The program has four components that include Ensuring Smooth Transition, Laying the Foundation, Building Alliances and Sharpening the Saw.
