Car of slain Indian bizman found in Roxas City
ROXAS CITY – The Mitsubishi Adventure car used by the slain Indian national before he went missing last May 29 was found yesterday at the premises of the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH).
Police said that the car bearing plate no. ZSZ 296 and engine no. 4D56AAB7394 was registered in the name of Nelia Tano of Las Piñas as owner.
Lady security guard Nena Apelit said she noticed the car abandoned at the premises of the hospital for five days. She said a foul odor emanated from inside the car so they decided to have it opened. It was found out that the foul smell came from a styro box filled with decomposing fishes.
The said car also contained several items or merchandizes such as electric fan, mosquito nets, towel, flat iron, VCD tape, several boxes of underwear, umbrella, water jug, stand fan, eye glasses, warning device, etc. believed to be the items being sold by the victim to his customers.
The victim’s family claimed the abandoned car from the Roxas City police station yesterday.
Last May 29, Noib Singh, 45, businessman of Grand Plains Subdivision, Jaro, Iloilo City was abducted at around 5 p.m. while doing business in Sara, Iloilo.
Police said that his abductors brought him in Mount Napatagan, Sitio Ulang, Brgy. Sibariwan, Dumarao, Capiz where he was killed and abandoned by the suspects.
SPO4 Eddie Onato, police investigator of Dumarao PNP Station, revealed that the kidnapper demanded the amount of P7 million in exchange for the victim’s release. He added that the kidnappers reduced it into P1 million however, the family of the victim failed to give the ransom money thus, they killed the victim.
Onato said that the family of the victim was supposed to give the ransom money and asked the suspects to let the victim’s voice be heard through cellphone however, the kidnappers failed to do so thus, the family presumed that their kin was already killed.
The police said that the conversation between the kidnappers and the family of the victim was recorded.
He said that kidnappers spoke in local dialect “yanda na kinahanglan ihatag ang ransom (we need the ransom money now”.
It was learned that “yanda” is the local dialect in Capiz which means now or “tulad”, “subong” and “karon na” in Iloilo province.
However, police said that they still have no lead as to who are the suspects in the kidnapping and slay of the Indian national.
