Buying a raffle ticket for a cause is one thing, winning the raffle draw is another.
This is what the winners realized in the âRaffle for a Causeâ sponsored by the Philippine National Police Academy Alumni Association Inc. Western Visayas chapter recently.
The grand prize winners went to Eusebio Aranduque Jr who won one motorcycle as first prize, Non-Uniformed Personnel Leonisa Fernandez won one 9mm pistol as second prize, Noel Bernaldez won the bedroom showcase as third prize, and Police Inspector Bonifacio Aral, Jr. won one laptop computer as fourth prize.
Three other winners received consolation prizes: Mr. Rogelio Delomo, Jr. and Mabini Obrique won one personal refrigerator each, and Police Officer I Meliton Sueta won one washing machine.
The proceeds of the raffle draw will be used for the construction of PNPAAAI alumni building.
Police Senior Superintendent Ricardo de la Paz said the construction of the alumni building is his top priority project during his term as the president of the association.
âWe donât have enough fund yet for the construction of the building, but we are confident to realize our plan soon,â he said adding that the raffle draw is among their fund raising activities for the purpose.
The alumni building will serve as the office and billeting area for the members of the association attending conferences and other activities in Iloilo City.
The PNPAAAI is composed of the members of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and Bureau of Fire Protection.
