Army makes troops within reach to public
An Army accessible to the people.
This is what the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division would like to impart for its opening of recruitment booth inside the SM City Iloilo in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
In line with the 112th Philippine Independence Day celebration, the said endeavor is in partnership with the country’s leading mall chain.
The recruitment booth, which will be located at the lower ground floor of the mall near the Tibiao Fish Spa, will open its door from June 11 until June 13.
“The purpose of the recruitment booth is to make our office more accessible to local residents as well as to provide information to those who are considering entering the uniformed services,” said 3ID public information officer 1Lt. Mark Andrew Posadas.
Anent to this, Posadas announced that 3ID will be recruiting anew 200 candidate soldiers.
This number is aside from the 290 who took their oath of office last June 2, 2010 .
Posadas explained that recruitment is a continuous regular activity performed by the Philippine Army to help replenish its ranks of old soldiers who will retire or leave the uniformed service.
“It is our way of addressing the normal attrition that any organization undergoes,” he added.
The 3ID will be filling another quota of Philippine Army recruits on June 15, 2010 at Camp Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz.
Priority candidates in filling-up this new candidate solider quota are qualified professionals; graduates of MS43 and Advanced ROTC; college Graduate; with 72 units and up in college; and high School graduate but possessing technical/vocational skills be needed by the AFP.
An applicant must be a natural born Filipino citizen; at least high school graduate with technical or special skill needed by the AFP; age must be at least 18 years old on the actual start of training. Cut-off age must not exceed 23 years old by 01 July 10; unmarried and without child; of good moral character; and must have a PAATB score of at least 80.
