CPPO forms task force to curb carnapping, robberies
ROXAS CITY – The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) under the leadership of Sr. Supt. Josephus Angan formed a task force to curb the rampant carnapping of motorcycles in this city and the robbery hold up cases in the municipalities.
Angan told the local media that Supt Arnold Ardiente, deputy provincial director for operation, will head the task force.
He said that the task force was created during the command conference with Ardiente and Sr. Supt. Leo Batiles, city police chief, held yesterday at Camp Teodorico Apil here.
Last week, three persons were massacred in Maayon, Capiz during the robbery/hold up at their house.
Meanwhile, police records show that some 20 motorcycles were carnapped in the span of May–June in the city and some parts of Capiz.
Angan said that the perpetrators are organized syndicate who wanted to have a business opportunities out of their of their carnapped motorcycles.
According to him, perpetrators cannibalized the motorcycles and utilized its engine for motorized bancas for fishing.
The provincial director said that several suspects, who are involved with carnapping and robberies, were arrested by the police.
