Private sector accreditation underway – RDC 6
The Regional Development Council 6 is finalizing the accreditation of the private sector to institutionalize its participation in the activities and programs of the RDC, the region’s highest planning and policy making body, the Philippine News Agency said in a report.
NEDA 6 Director Ro-Ann Bacal said the participation of representatives from the private sector and non-government organizations is considered important through their views and sentiments about the socio-economic issues and policies affecting the region.
Executive Order 325 reorganizes the RDC, which is composed of all local chief executives of the provinces, cities, capital towns presidents of leagues of local officials, selected agency regional directors and the private sector, consisting of NGOs, business groups, professional organizations and civic clubs.
The EO mandates that one-fourth of the membership of the fully constituted council should be that of the private sector.
NEDA, which serves as the RDC secretariat, said it seeks to ensure a wider range of private sector representation and it is inviting potential private sector/non-government organizations with proven track record in Western Visayas to apply.
Their application papers will be processed and once accredited, will become dynamic partners in the development processes in the region.
