NGA execs witness swearing in of LP winners
ROXAS CITY – Representatives of some national government agencies in Capiz witnessed the inauguration and oath-taking of elected Liberal Party members on June 30 at the Roxas City Metropolitan Cathedral, according to the Philippine Information Agency.
A thanksgiving mass officiated by Capiz Archbishop Msgr. Onesimo Gordoncillo, D.D. kicked off the rites, administered by Regional Trial Court Branch 17 Presiding Judge Edward Contreras.
“We have been invited to witness the ceremonies,” said Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Provincial Director Victor G. Gallego.
Aside from Gallego, executives from other government agencies who came were from the Civil Service Commission, Bureau of Treasury, Philippine Coconut Authority, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Education, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Philippine National Police, and Bureau of Fire Protection, among others.
The oath-taking rites for the LP provincial, city, municipal and congressional elected officials was led by Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco, First District Rep. Antonio Del Rosario and Roxas City Mayor Alan Celino.
Tanco and Celino conveyed their respective messages after the mass.
A street party dubbed “Pasalamat” was also staged by local LP organizers in the evening of June 30, featuring by local band performances and a fireworks exhibition.
