Mabilog plans major infra projects
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has bared the big infrastructure projects his administration plans to implement soon.
“We want 60 percent of the city’s budget allocated for infrastructure projects. We want the city to have its own BPO (business process outsourcing) hub, convention center and a sports complex. We will form a body that will look into the feasibility of these big projects. We foresee a lot of projects for the city to move forward,” Mabilog said in a City Hall press release.
The mayor said he will create a committee task to study the viability of the proposed giant projects that would fast track socio-economic development, progress and growth of the metropolis.
He will also look into the practicability of establishing a City College that will give great opportunities to poor but deserving students to finish college through quality public education system, he added.
Mabilog as well pushed for the city’s takeover of the abandoned housing project in Pavia and the plan of setting up a government center to host offices at convenient and cheaper rent.
