Capiceño farmer awarded outstanding ARB
ROXAS CITY – An Agrarian Reform Beneficiary from Capiz was among the awardees during the 2010 Awarding Ceremony for Outstanding ARBs, Cooperatives and Agrarian Reform Communities held on June 26 at the Mega Trade Hall, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
William Dador, 71, a farmer from Brgy. Cabungahan, Maayon town, received a special award as Outstanding ARB for his dedication and hardwork which maximizes the productivity of a parcel of land he availed under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.
Dador has been tilling his land with his wife Lolita, 70, to send all their four children to college.
In 2009, a Capiceño farmer, Romulo Loberes, from Brgy. Agustin Navarra, Ivisan town also bagged the national Outstanding ARB Award.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Regina Caspillo, said that Loberes and Dador are inspiration to their fellow ARBs and living witnesses that CARP has indeed brought changes to the lives of the farmer-beneficiaries.
“Dador has proved that poverty is not a hindrance to success,” the DAR- Capiz said of the awardee.
During the awarding rites, Dador was accompanied by his wife, Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer of Maayon Heles Tunguia, Agrarian Reform Program Officer for Beneficiaries Development Coordination Division chief Ma. Teresa Valencia, Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Alex Barredo and representatives from DAR-Capiz Provincial Office.
