Inmate’s kin want autopsy
ROXAS CITY – The kin of inmate Francis Agam, who died inside the lock-up cell of the city police station, has asked authorities to conduct an autopsy to determine whether there was a foul play on his death.
His daughter Princes told reporters that other inmates, whom she identified as the Ebañez brothers, allegedly ganged up on his father Sunday evening, the night before he died.
She denied claims that her father intentionally hit the police station’s jalousie window that could have hurt him.
Agam, 51, a resident of Sitio Nasagud, Bolo, was pronounced “dead on arrival” by an attending physician at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.
Agam was arrested Sunday night while he was drunk for damaging the property of his neighbor P02 Rodel Ebañes, who is assigned at Roxas City police station.
While detained at cell number 3, Agam complained of abdominal pain early Monday morning. The police gave him food but he refused to eat because of his stomach problem.
Her daughter, who visited him before he died, confirmed that his father has a lingering illness but refused to provide details.
