MSMED Council officers inducted
ROXAS CITY – The new set of officers of the Provincial Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council for 2010 to 2016 were inducted yesterday, coinciding with the nationwide observance of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Week from July 12 to 17.
Danilo So Chan and Jose Nery Ong have been elected chairperson and vice-chairperson, respectively, a Philippine News Agency report said.
Ong also chairs the Council’s policy and advocacy committee; Corazon Tiangco, the finance committee, and Edna Viterbo, the marketing committee.
Provincial Coconut Development Manager Jeffrey de los Reyes of the Philippine Coconut Authority has also named chair of the One Town, One Product committee.
The observance of MSMED Week in Capiz kicked off with a motorcade along the city’s major streets participated by micro and small entrepreneurs and representatives of non-government organizations, national government agencies, financial institutions and the provincial government.
“To make it more colorful and exciting, local bikers were invited to join the convoy,” the Department of Trade and Industry said.
Other activities in the week-long celebration include Entrepreneurship Development Seminar, Seafood Technical Working Group Meeting, and Cutfoliage Export Shipment to Japan.
