CRC to hold livelihood training for inmates
ROXAS CITY – The Capiz Rehabilitation Center will hold a livelihood training for its inmates, Provincial Warden Arjuna Yngcong said.
Yngcong told The News Today that 20 male inmates will be trained in welding while 15, in tactical electricity and building installation.
Six female inmates will undergo training in beauty care.
Trainers from Capiz State University and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority will teach the inmates and provide equipment. The CRC will provide the training materials.
Yngcong said the signing of memorandum of agreement for the project between CAPSU, TESDA and CRC will be held this month.
“Prisoners who have cases of theft and robbery will no longer commit crimes once aquitted, if they have training for livelihood,” Yncong said.
Under his administration, Yncong said all religions are allowed to conduct bible study for the inmates’ spiritual guidance.
The CRC is also conducting adult literacy to inmates who cannot read and write through the assistance of CAPSU instructors.
