Mobile school to hold skills training for Capiz inmates
ROXAS CITY – The Community Extension Services Office of the Capiz State University-Roxas City main campus is processing needed materials for the skills training of Capiz Rehabilitation Center inmates.
The upcoming activity is in line with the Mobile Technology School project that was conceptualized by CapSU in collaboration with the Capiz provincial government, Technical Education Skills and Development Authority and Department of Labor and Employment.
CAPSU-CESO chairman Kenneth G. Occeño said a memorandum of agreement for the project will be signed between CapSU and CRC to finalize the schedule of the training.
About 50 inmates will undergo a skills training on wielding, electrical installation and beauty care courses every Saturday and Sunday sessions that will be spearheaded by the school’s some College of Industrial Technology and Engineering faculty.
The various MTS training courses were designed by CapSU to make education accessible to a wider mass of people.
The mobile school project that has helped hundreds of out-of-school youth and less-privileged sectors was launched in October 2008 to provide Capiceños with skills for gainful employment.
