Missing fisherman could have been hit by lightning
ROXAS CITY – The wife of the reported missing fisherman has raised the possibility that her husband was hit by a lightning while fishing along the Roxas City bay.
This concern was shared by Maricel Martinez to reporters after seeing that the motorized fishing boat of her husband, Gerald, seemed to have been burned.
Martinez said her husband left their house on July 19 at around 5 a.m. but failed to go home at around 4 p.m., the time he usually arrives.
During the search and rescue operation conducted by the Philippine Coast Guard, only the man’s fishing boat was found containing a pail full of fishes, along with his slippers and other personal belongings.
The victim’s mother said she is confident that her son is still alive.
