‘We are open to surrender of rob suspects’
Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao Jr., police regional director, said police operatives will not resort to bloody encounters with robbery suspects if they will only peacefully surrender themselves.
“We are open for negotiation with those who want to surrender,” he said.
Although the Chiva-Fajardo robbery group was already neutralized following the deaths of its two members Gilbert and Joey Chiva last Saturday after an encounter with policemen, they still they have to come up with the identities of the remaining group members, he said.
The Chiva-Fajardo group has around 20 members operating in central Iloilo towns.
The group was allegedly responsible for the series of robbery incidents in Calinog, Janiuay, Tubungan, Dueñas, Badiangan and Bingawan towns.
Pagdilao said part of the intelligence gathering is to identify the faces of other members of the robbery groups involved and responsible behind several unsolved cases all throughout the region.
They are still checking the other robbery groups responsible for the series of robbery incidents in Iloilo, he said.
The LBC branch in Palmares St., Passi City was also robbed of P485,293 cash last Friday.
