One more Mondia slay suspect nabbed
Another suspect in the murder of former Pulupandan town mayor Luis Mondia Jr. was arrested yesterday at Poblacion, New Lucena, Iloilo
Apprehended was Primitivo Pacifico, 39, of Brgy. Badiang, also of the same town on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Froilan Gregory Alabajon of Regional Trial Court in Iloilo City, served by members of the Regional Intelligence Office 6 led by Police Officer 3 Benjamin Calunsod.
Pacifico is the second suspect to fall after operatives of Dingle Police Station arrested Joebert Gumban, 30, at his home in Brgy. Ginalinan Nuevo, Dingle town Sunday morning.
The remaining five of the seven suspects (not four as earlier reported) are Benny Laolao, Ramy Enojo, and Jerry Solido of Brgy. Tambunac, Dingle, and Bernardo Pacifico and Eufemio Poblacion Jr.
Pacifico, who said that he is a farmer, denied involvement in the killing of Mondia although he admitted knowing Bernardo Pacifico, who is his first cousin.
But he said he has been linked in a robbery incident but the case was dismissed.
Mondia was gunned down on the evening of Ash Wednesday last February while leaving the Jaro Cathedral in Iloilo City with his wife and granddaughter.
