DPWH 6 sets up complaints, hotline desk
The Department of Public Works and Highways 6 has set up a complaints desk and opened a hotline service to entertain complaints as part of the agency’s transformation program.
Regional Director Rolando Asis said the program is a response to Secretary Rogelio Singson’s orders to put a complaint desk to show transparency and erase the public’s corrupt impression of the agency.
The public can reach their office through telephone hotline (033) 329-0901 and fax number (033) 335-0257.
The complainants can see them personally or call their office, he said.
Aside from the complaints desk, the DPWH 6 also formed a “Special Task Team” to monitor the quality of infrastructure projects in Western Visayas.
The team is also tasked to call the attention of concerned contractors of projects with observed irregularities or with sub-standard materials.
Asis said that any contractor found exercising unlawful acts will be sanctioned.
As an example, OIC-District Engineer George Suy of the Iloilo 4th District Engineering Office, which implemented the road section project in Brgy. Duyan-Duyan, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo was directed to require the contractor to remove and replace the damaged pavement.*
