Angan relieved for overstaying
ROXAS CITY – Senior Supt Josephus Angan, director of Capiz Provincial Police Office, was relieved for overstaying.
His relief order was effective August 3 and he was reassigned to the Region 7 Police Office in Cebu.
Supt. Nestor Millaro, CPPO deputy police director for administration, will serve as officer-in-charge.
Angan was assigned as CPPO director for two years and a month, longer than the usual two-year stint of provincial directors.
Sources said the three possible successors of Angan are Iloilo Provincial Police Director Reynato Gumban, Antique Provincial Police Director Ren Darocca, and the younger brother of Police Regional Office 6 Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr.
A month before the recent elections, Angan was ordered relieved from CPPO and was supposed to be replaced by Supt. Primo Golingay.
However, his stay was extended because of Gov. Victor Tanco’s reported “intervention.”
The CPPO was said to have performed poorly under Angan during the command contest among the provincial police offices in the region.
There were also insinuations that during his stint as provincial police director, the CPPO registered zero arrests on illegal drugs and illegal gambling.
