Disomangcop is city police chief; Gumban named CPPO director
ROXAS CITY – Supt. Khasmir Disomangcop has been appointed city police chief here while Senior Supt. Renato Gumban will assume as director of the Capiz Provincial Police Office next week.
Disomangcop, a former deputy director of Iloilo Police Provincial Office, took over as city police chief Wednesday, succeeding Supt. Leo Batiles, who stayed for more than two years here.
On Wednesday’s turnover rites, Batiles transferred command to Disomangcop, in the presence of Councilors Powell del Rosario, James Matthew Viterbo and Emmanuel Billones Jr., and businessmen Rodulfo Alba and Angel Celino.
Disomangop, 46, a native of Jaro, Iloilo City, vowed to continue the programs and projects of Batiles.
He said he will enhance police capability by supporting Mayor Alan Angel Celino’s plan of creating a Special Weapons and Tactics team.
Celino, for his part, assured Disomangop of support on the police’s campaign against illegal activities.
Meanwhile, Gumban will be installed as CPPO director on August 25, replacing Senior Supt. Josephus Angan.
Supt. Mario Millaro, deputy director for operation, is currently the CPPO officer-in-charge.
Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. said he knows Gumban since he was mayor of Dumarao town.
Gumban, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Batch 83, is a native of Iloilo province but has been assigned in Capiz from 1986 to 1996 holding different positions.*
