PCA to open ‘coco tyangge’
ROXAS CITY – More coconut products in Capiz will be showcased with the opening of a “Coco Tyangge” and “Pangulabo” in Roxas City on August 24.
Provincial Manager Jeffrey Delos Reyes of the Philippine Coconut Authority said they will open a coco tyangge (coconut store) in front of the provincial office here in line with the Coconut Week celebration next week.
Delos Reyes said through the store, the public will be made aware on the importance of the coconut industry and see the different products the coconut may offer.
The Capiz PCA will commemorate the 24th National and 14th Regional Coconut week celebrations on August 23 to 27 this year with the theme “Niyog, Yaman ng Pinoy.”
The regional event, which will be held on August 25, will be hosted by the province of Aklan.
Meanwhile, De los Reyes said that during the opening ceremony here, partner agencies will be acknowledged, along with the presentation of the agency’s accomplishments for 2009 and the target for this year.
He also expressed gratitude to the Capiceños, particularly those who have been helping in the continued growth of the coconut industry in Capiz.*PIA
