Robbers steal P179T from store employees
Two female employees of a local department store lost P179,000 to robbers who held them up Tuesday morning in Franco St., Estancia, Iloilo.
Sheila Sumadia, 26, branch supervisor of Novo Store, and bagger Ana Fe Tumaca, 19, were about to board a tricycle to go to the bank when the two suspects waylaid them.
The robbers snatched from Sumadia the bag containing P179,000 and fled on board a motorcycle.
Estancia Police Station chief, Senior Insp. Almaquer, said the bank was only 200 to 300 meters from the store.
A third suspect was believed to have served as look-out outside the store.
Almaquer said they have already identified the suspects, who are all from the fifth district of Iloilo.
But based on police information, the suspects are not linked to the previous hold-up incidents in the fifth district of Iloilo province.*
