2 outstanding WV cops receive awards
Two police officers from Western Visayas are among this year’s awardees of the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service of the Metrobank Foundation.
The awardees from the region are Police Officers 3 Sheila Mae Acanto Sangrines and Joey Valerta Castillon, who were cited in the Police Non-Commissioned Officers category.
President Simeon Aquino III conferred gold medallions to the two and their fellow awardees during rites held in Malacañang yesterday.
Sangrines is the chief of Complaints and Investigation Section/Anti-Human Trafficking Desk of the Regional Women and Children Protection Desk in Camp Martin Delgado, Iloilo City.
Castillon is assigned in the Administrative and Police Community Relations division of Tobias Fornier Police Station in Antique.
Other awardees in the PNCO category are PO3 Edilberto Euraoba III, Police Community Relations, Negros Oriental Provincial Office; PO3 Soraida Aripin, chief investigator of Women and Children Desk Investigator, Zamboanga City; SPO2 Hermie Raymundo, chief/clerk special investigator, Provincial Investigation and Detection management branch, Pangasinan Police Station; and PO3 Roel Paclibar, Police Community Relations Tacurong City Police Station, Sultan Kudarat.
This year’s outstanding Police Commissioned Officers are Supt. Leo Manaog Francisco, chief of the Regional Police Intelligence Operations Unit, National Capital Region; Supt. Florencio Ortilla, acting Chief, Police Regional Office Davao; Supt. Noel Ponsaran, regional chaplain, PRO 11, Davao City; and Supt. Sidney Villaflor, chief of Police, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.*
