Info officers attend public accountability seminar
ROXAS CITY – Information officers from the different national government agencies in Capiz attended the Public Accountability seminar of the Office of the Ombudsman here.
The seminar is part of the different activities of the two-day Office of the Ombudsman caravan of services in Capiz which ends today.
The members of the Capiz Association of Government Information Officers joined the employees of the provincial and city government in the three-hour seminar.
Other activities include a forum for local chief executives and other officials from the provincial and municipal governments with top officials of the Office of the Ombudsman.
The delivery of other government social services will be held today at the Capiz Gymnasium participated by about 30 government agencies in Western Visayas.
The Ombudsman Caravan of Government Services aims to bring different social services directly to the people of Capiz, especially to the poor and those living in the far flung areas.
As additional services, the Ombudsman, in partnership with other agencies, like the Philippine Army, will also conduct a medical and dental mission.
Meanwhile, Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco expressed gratitude to the Office of the Ombudsman for giving the Capiceños the opportunity to avail of the various services of the different government agencies, especially those that are only based in Iloilo City.
Among these agencies are the Government Services Insurance System, Professional Regulations Commission, Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and Department of Social Welfare and Development.*PIA
