Lending collector robbed
A lending company collector was robbed by two men in Iloilo City Tuesday night.
The victim was identified as John Rey Arceño, 34, a resident of Brgy. Tanza-Baybay, City Proper, and an employee of Sea Town Lending Corp.
At around 7:15 p.m., Arceño was driving along an alley in Burgos St., La Paz district after doing his collection duties.
While on board his motorcycle, he saw persons and one of them kicked him.
Arceño fell on the pavement and when he tried to get up, one of the suspects pointed a gun at him.
The two then took his collection money amounting to about P20,000, along with his wallet, and mobile phone.
Arceño said he tried to fight back but one of the suspects hit him with a gun on the head.
The robbers fled on board the victim’s motorcycle.
La Paz Police Station chief, Senior Insp. Lorenez Losaria, said they have already identified the two suspects.
One of them has a previous record in robbery, particularly in the City Proper district.
In fact, he just came out of jail for the same offense.*
