WV police steps up anti-crime patrol in ‘ber’ months
The Police Regional Office 6 is intensifying patrol operations in the region as crimes against property are expected to increase in the last four months of the year.
A crime trend is observed from September to December every year as the public is engaged in many activities during the semestral break, All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days, and the Christmas holidays.
Crimes against property include robbery, theft, and carnapping.
Chief Supt. Samuel Pagdilao Jr., police regional director, said to deter criminalities, policemen should implement the crime prevention program particularly the conduct of patrols and checkpoints, and intelligence monitoring.
Pagdilao ordered all city and provincial directors and town police chiefs to organize mobile patrol operations and open hotline numbers for immediate response.
In Iloilo City, the police has deployed a roving patrol car that monitors activities around the City Proper.
The patrol car coordinates with the communication center which instructs the mobile team where to response. The communication center receives calls from the Iloilo City Police Office hotline.
Pagdilao also instructed the Regional Public Safety Battalion to conduct massive intelligence monitoring operations around the region particularly in provinces that have previous robbery cases.*
