RDC 6 confirms PSR members
Twelve private sector representatives were confirmed by the Regional Development Council 6 during its meeting on September 3, at the NEDA 6 office in Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City.
Those confirmed were Mariannne de Leon of Capiz NDO/PO Network for Enterprise Development; Ma. Luisa Segovia of Iloilo Business Club; Roberto Montelibano of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Jessraf Palmares of Iloilo Federation for Information Technology; Emmanuel Areño of Iloilo Code NGOs; Wilfredo Homicillada of PROCESS Foundation-Panay; Florendo Besana of Iloilo Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Association;
Celia Matea Flor of Development through Active Women Networking Foundation; Luis Molavin of Taos Puso Foundation; Mona Lisa Diones of Family Planning Organization of the Philippines; Herman Santos of Confederation of Sugar Producers’ Association; and Marcelo Villones Jr. of Commercial, Agricultural, Industrial, Labor Organization.
The six geographical representatives of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo and Negros Occidental are pending while their accreditation and the reorganization of the Local Development Councils have yet to be finalized.
Upon the submission of their names, there will then be a total of 18 PSRs, representing 25 percent of the total members of the RDC 6.
According to the National Economic and Development Authority 6, secretariat of RDC 6, the role of non-government organizations is critical in regional and local development as they bring in the perspectives of the private sector in the deliberation of policies, operational issues, and proposed programs and projects.*
