3 die, 4 wounded in Dumangas road mishap
Three residents of Negros Occidental died while four from Bacolod City were hurt in a vehicular accident past midnight of Saturday in Brgy. Dacuton, Dumangas, Iloilo.
The fatalities were identified as Joan Rivera, 28, of Brgy. Aguisan, Himamaylan City; Philip Arayon, 22, of Country Homes Subdivision, Brgy. Estefania; and Ma. Fe Guangco, 28, of Brgy. Vista Alegre, both in Bacolod City.
Police said Rivera and Arayon were already dead upon reaching the West Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City. Guanco died later that morning while undergoing treatment.
Wounded were Boyor Galon, 30; Robert Magbanua, 18; Rene de la Rama; 41; and Virgil Mareveles, 55, all from Bacolod City. They were also brought to the same hospital.
Both Mariveles and De la Rama, who sustained minor injuries, already left the hospital.
According to police investigation, the victims were on board Fuso truck with plate number RGA 301 driven by Angelo Magbanua, 50, of Brgy. Alicante, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
They were on their way to Iloilo City from the port area in Sitio Bo-ol when the truck hit the rear portion of a Mitsubishi Fuso ten-wheeler truck with plate number GPM 308.
Magbanua and ten-wheeler truck driver Fortunato Jocson, 36, of Hacienda Roxas in Murcia town, Negros Occidental were held by the Dumangas police while the case is being investigated.*
