PhilHealth engages help of liaison, info officers
The assistance of liaison and information officers of 138 local government units in Western Visayas was urged by the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. in the campaign for the PhilHealth National Registration Day on October 2.
PhilHealth 6 Public Relations Officer Lazaro Tabsing said these LGU officers when thoroughly oriented on the PhilHealth programs, memberships and benefits, can help their clients effectively avail of their health care services.
He said information officers are communicators of PhilHealth services so that all Filipinos can avail assistance for their health needs.
Each LGU is expected to have a corner for PhilHealth updates.
In a gathering of liaison and information officers, PhilHealth officers and specialists said they are mobilizing all their Provincial Service Offices throughout the region to accommodate registrants.
Lourdes Diocson, chief of Field Operations Division, said there are six identified registration centers namely, the ABL Stadium in Aklan, PhilHealth Service Office in Antique, Governor’s Hall in Capiz, Guimaras Gym; Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Hall in Bacolod City and Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
PhilHealth Regional Vice President Marilyn Geduspan said these centers will be manned by PhilHealth staff to attend to the registration and inquiries through an online system.
“These centers are big enough to accommodate the expected big number of registrants who will come,” Tabsing said.
The PhilHealth National Registration Day, dubbed “PhilHealth Sabado, Magseguro, Magparehistro” is a joint venture of the Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department Interior and Local Government, Department of Education, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, League of Cities, Municipalities and Provinces, and the Anti-Poverty Commission.
