Upcoming ICT summit gets support from CICT
The Commission on Information and Communications Technology under the Office of the President has endorsed the 3rd National ICT Summit to be held in Bacolod City on November 25 and 26.
The gathering, organized by the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines, aims to bring together its 35 ICT council members together with the national and local government leaders and various stakeholders of the IT-Business Process Outsourcing industry to collaborate and develop linkages for growth and sustainability.
NICP Chairperson Jocelle Batapa-Sigue said she received recently the official written endorsement of CICT signed by newly appointed chair Ivan John Uy, stating that CICT is pleased to partner with the NICP and strongly supports the initiative.
“We join NICP in its continuing efforts and commitment in making the Philippines the most preferred outsourcing and off-shoring destination in the world,” Uy stated in his endorsement letter.
The Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communications Technology will host the 3rd National ICT Summit themed “NICP: Connecting the Islands to the World!”
The summit aims to provide participants with opportunities for knowledge building, networking and productive partnerships.
It will include educational sessions focusing on various sectors such as BPO, contact center, voice services, animation and game development, medical and legal transcription, software development and non-voice/back office applications.
The NICP, created in 2008 through the initiative of CICT, is the umbrella organization of the ICT councils nationwide whose vision is “to be the recognized national venue for collaboration, develop the member organizations through the sharing of best practices, among others, and to be the unified voice for the Philippine ICT Industry.
Uy commended the NICP for being a very active partner of CICT in its continuing efforts to drive the development of the information IT- BPO sector in respective regions and cities and the Philippines Cyber Corridor as a whole.*
