Mabilog to deliver ‘state of city address’
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said he is satisfied with what City Hall has accomplished in his first 100 days in office.
“I can say that all departments have done their work satisfactorily,” he told reporters.
Mabilog is set to deliver his “State of the City Address” on October 13 pending the City Council’s approval.
The mayor said he will report on his administration’s accomplishments, foremost of which is the first-ever celebration of the city’s 73rd Charter Day; the maintenance of cleanliness around the city; and stricter implementation of ordinances.
“We have accomplished a lot, but we still need to do more,” he said.
By next year, more plans and programs will be realized as these have been earmarked in the 2011 budget, the mayor said.
Meantime, Mabilog lauded the efforts of City Hall departments in making his first 100 days easier, especially the local finance committee and the frontline services.
He also cited the Human Resource and Management Office, Crisis Management Office, City Treasurer’s Office, Accounting and Budget offices for the various awards they received as a result of excellent public service.
The mayor noted the efficiency displayed by the General Services Office and Bids and Awards Committee.
The City Council also got a satisfactory rating from Mabilog for their organization and efficiency.
“I’m very satisfied and happy with what they’re doing,” he said.
Mabilog said some offices that still need “room for improvement” include the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Health Office, Transportation Management and Traffic Regulation Office, and City Engineer’s Office.*
