Suspect in taxi robberies, killings nabbed in buy bust
A notorious robber was arrested by a joint enforcement team following a buy bust operation Tuesday afternoon at Brgy East Baluarte, Molo, Iloilo City.
Reynaldo Dizon, 22, was found with two sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and P700 marked money.
The operation was conducted by personnel of Iloilo City Police Office Task Group Anti-Illegal Drug led by Chief Insp. Dande Deocampo, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6.
Dizon also possessed a .38 caliber revolver loaded with six live ammunition.
But during the interrogation, it was learned that Dizon is not just into illegal drugs.
“His name sounds familiar that’s why we checked his records. All along, his name has been coming up during the investigation of taxi robberies that occurred in La Paz district,” said Senior Supt. Dennis Basngi, city police director.
Dizon was indeed involved and admitted that he killed Jurimon Juridico, 33, of Brgy. Magsaysay, Maasin, Iloilo.
Juridico, driver of Tata Taxi, was found dead Monday morning inside his vehicle parked in a secluded area of Ledesco Village in La Paz district.
Dizon said his companions include Manuel Roquero of Brgy. Kasing-Kasing, Molo and Alfred Molina of Brgy. Bonifacio, Arevalo, and they belong to a crime group called “True Brown Style.”
He also claimed that Roquero and Molina were responsible for the killing of taxi driver Felix Centino in Tigbauan town, Iloilo.*
