10 exhibitors join products expo
ROXAS CITY – Ten leading local retailers in Capiz joined the “Consumer Welfare, Product Quality and Safety Standards Expo of the Department of Trade and Industry- Capiz Provincial Office from October 5 to 7 at Gaisano City in observance of the Consumer Welfare Month.
DTI Public Information Officer Ken Cuñada said the event showcased mandatory products that have met existing safety and quality standards such as electrical and wiring devices, home appliances, automotive parts and construction materials.
These products bear the Philippine National Standards required markings such as PS mark or ICC stickers. The PS and ICC markings signify that the product passed the tests and inspections by the Bureau of Product Standards and are safe to use.
The opening rites of the three-day promotional event was attended by Capiz Board Member Aldwin Cruz-an, Roxas City Councilor Matthew James Viterbo, DTI-Capiz Provincial Director Ermelinda Pollentes and Provincial Micro Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council officers and members.
Participating exhibitors include Mansour Construction Supply, AM Builders’ Depot, Citi Hardware-Roxas, HLH Marketing Inc., Amado Lim Enterprises Inc., Mirola Merchandising, PSC Construction Inc., Dancorr Auto Parts, Gaisano City Roxas, and Imperial Appliance Plaza.
A seminar on Fair Trade Laws is also set on October 14.
The seminar aims to increase the awareness of businessmen and consumers on the different Fair Trade laws and get the involvement of the private sector in selling safe and quality priority products.
The CWM celebration every October is embodied in Presidential Proclamation No. 1098 issued by President Fidel Ramos in 1997.*
