Repair of traffic lights depend on power supply
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said over the weekend the long-overdue restoration of the city traffic lights is his government’s priority concern.
But Mabilog, who has witnessed the dysfunctional traffic lights’ deterioration before he became mayor, said the repairs cannot be done unless power supply returns to normal.
Mabilog said the daily and unpredictable power blackouts hounding the city would undo repair efforts as electrical gadgets like traffic lights are vulnerable to sudden surge of electric current.
However, Mabilog stressed that repairs on the street lights would be promptly carried out as soon as power supply has stabilized.*PNA
