PRO6 holds interfaith prayer for peaceful polls
The Police Regional Office 6 yesterday led an interfaith prayer vigil for honest, orderly, and peaceful elections (HOPE), at the new multi-purpose hall of the PRO 6 headquarters in Iloilo City.
Representatives from various religious groups – Evangelical, Muslim, and Roman Catholic – joined the PRO6 personnel in a prayer.
Prayers were also offered simultaneously in chapels and prayer rooms of city and provincial police offices across the region.
PRO 6 said the prayer vigil is concurrent to the mission of the organization in giving importance to the moral and spiritual recovery of all Philippine National Police personnel and leading them to affirm the indispensable role of prayer for the attainment of a successful barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls on October 25.
At the Iloilo City Police Office, Senior Supt. Dennis Basngi, city police director, also led a prayer vigil at the ICPO Conference Room.
Basngi said the holding of the prayer vigil emphasized one of the thrusts of the Integrated Transformation Program of the PNP which is the implementation of a moral and spiritual recovery program.*
