TESDA backs ICT Summit
The Technical Education and Skills Training Authority (TESDA) has directed all its regional offices to enjoin all their local partners to attend the 3rd National ICT Summit in Bacolod City on November 25 and 26.
In an official letter Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, chairperson of the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines, TESDA Director General Emmanuel Joel Villanueva said he considers the summit a significant undertaking for the in IT-BPO industry and directed TESDA ICT champion Susan de la Rama to attend as one of the resource speakers.
The summit, organized by the NICP in coordination with the Commission on Information and Communications Technology, will be hosted by the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communications Technology.
Batapa-Sigue said the target participants are not only IT professionals but also members of the academe and local government officials to keep abreast with the ICT trends and to realize the importance of private-public partnerships and academe-industry collaboration to further boost the local economy.
This summit is the only nationwide ICT event held outside of Metro Manila and thus, is really responsive to and cognizant of the potential of provincial locations for ICT-related investments, she added.*
